The ceremony was presided over by the Governor of Assam and Visitor of RGU, Lakshman Prasad Acharya, and attended by several dignitaries from across the country.<\/p>\n<p><!-- HTML_TAG_END --> <\/div>\n<div style=\"font-family:&quot;Noto Serif&quot;; overflow-x: auto;\"><!-- HTML_TAG_START --><\/p>\n<p>A key highlight of the convocation was the conferment of honorary degrees upon four eminent personalities for their exceptional contributions to their respective fields.<\/p>\n<p><!-- HTML_TAG_END --> <\/div>\n<div style=\"font-family:&quot;Noto Serif&quot;; overflow-x: auto;\"><!-- HTML_TAG_START --><\/p>\n<p>Alongside Dr Sanjiv Goenka, these personalities were also honoured:\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><!-- HTML_TAG_END --> <\/div>\n<div style=\"font-family:&quot;Noto Serif&quot;; overflow-x: auto;\"><!-- HTML_TAG_START --><\/p>\n<p>The man who propelled the RP Sanjiv Goenka Group from being a Rs 2500 crore company to a Rs 1 lakh crore giant in a short span of just 15 years, Goenka, is a man with many firsts and many records. Interestingly, this is the fifth D.Litt for Dr Goenka. Prior to this, he has been awarded D.Litt by the University of North Bengal, Amity University, St Xavier&#8217;s Kolkata, and St Xavier&#8217;s Gandhinagar.<\/p>\n<p><!-- HTML_TAG_END --> <\/div>\n<div style=\"font-family:&quot;Noto Serif&quot;; overflow-x: auto;\"><!-- HTML_TAG_START --><\/p>\n<p>The former chairman board of governors at IIT Kharagpur for four terms, Goenka is currently the chairman of International Management Institute in Delhi, Bhubaneswar, and Kolkata.<\/p>\n<p><!-- HTML_TAG_END --> <\/div>\n<div style=\"font-family:&quot;Noto Serif&quot;; overflow-x: auto;\"><!-- HTML_TAG_START --><\/p>\n<p>He also owns the IPL cricket team Lucknow Super Giants and the ISL football team Mohun Bagan Super Giants.<\/p>\n<p><!-- HTML_TAG_END --> <\/div>\n<div style=\"font-family:&quot;Noto Serif&quot;; overflow-x: auto;\"><!-- HTML_TAG_START --><\/p>\n<p>The convocation address was delivered by Dr Sudhanshu Trivedi, Member of Rajya Sabha, in the presence of dignitaries such as Dr A. K. Pansari, Chancellor; A. K.
